“I went to school abroad since the 5th grade, so my mom would always send me cakes and bouquets. During my trainee days, my mom couldn’t cook me seaweed soup for my birthday (since she lives abroad) and I was on a diet so she would order and send me low-sugar cakes so I wouldn’t gain weight from eating them. She also sent me rice cakes to share with others and I did, but I was scolded right after because I was on a diet, like ‘Why are you eating that?’  I really eat only a little though. My mom told me that I must eat some even if it’s just a bite because it’s my birthday. I felt really sorry because my mom would still listen to and care for me even when I was tired and annoyed.” (trans)
